NFL Survivor Picks & Weekly Pick'em Pool Matrix (2026)
The hardest puzzle in football: 18 consecutive weeks of non-replacement strategy. The Chairman's engine balances empirical win probabilities, contrarian pool leverage (EV), and 6-week preservation paths so you stop burning elite contenders in September.
The Chairman's Confession: "The Math Is Clean. The Football Is Not."
In standard ATS handicapping, a 60% win expectation is gold. In a Survivor pool, picking a 77% favorite every single week still gives you only a 0.9% chance of surviving all 18 weeks on a single bullet (0.7718 = 0.009). That is why Survivor isn't just modeling — it's an adversarial game of preserving elite teams, fading hyper-crowded chalk, and getting lucky when the ball bounces funny.
Week 2 Results & How to Play It Forward
The ledger, exactly as the engine called it — survivors and casualties alike. Straight-up winners only; the spread column below is modeling input, not the pick target.
The Damage Report
The engine's opening pick SF (84.2% win probability, vs MIA) got knocked out (35-13) — the highest-owned play on the board (29.4% of the public) went down with a chunk of the pool's bullets. The backup pivot TB (73.6%, vs CLE) fell short at 19-23. That's the whole survivor sermon in one Sunday: same model, same slate, opposite fates — and exactly why the backup path and multi-entry branching exist.
The Play-Forward Math (Week 3)
Here's the counterintuitive part: burning SF in Week 2 cost the optimal path exactly zero equity. The engine re-ran the season plan with SF off the board and the best available path is identical — 20.14% cumulative survival equity through Week 3+5. The model flagged SF as low-preservation-value before kickoff; the upset stung the record, not the road ahead. Week 3's plan stays on schedule (below).

The What-If Sandbox: Pick a Different Team, Watch the Odds Move
Every button below locks that team in for Week 3 and re-runs the engine's path optimizer for the next six weeks with that team burned. These are the same numbers the board uses — nothing is saved, it's a calculator, not a promise. Straight-up winners only: pick who wins the game, no spreads.
| Wk | Best pick | Matchup | Win% | Cum% |

*Portfolio odds multiply your entries' independent paths — the engine plans each entry to stay different from the others. Opening every entry on the same team wastes bullets.
Graphs That Tell the Survivor Story
1 · The Cost of the Pick
Lock in a Week 3 pick and this is the best 7-week survival equity the engine can still carve out for you. Click any team in the sandbox above to highlight it here.
2 · The Odds of Still Being Alive
Single path re-planned weekly vs. a 3-entry portfolio vs. the same 78%-favorite every week. The dashed line is where the average solo entry historically dies (Week 4.6).
3 · The Crowd Map: Ownership vs. Win Probability
Public pick percentages vs. model win probability. Red bubbles top-right = popular AND safe (fine, but everyone's there). Green bubbles = nearly as safe with a fraction of the crowd — that's where pool equity hides.
4 · The Preservation Grid: Why "Save" Tags Exist
Model win probability for every team-week through Week 18. A team with a darker cell ahead (a juicier future matchup) is worth more saved for later than burned now.
